2008 - We have downloaded and tested the new Google Chrome
Browser, here is what our experts have to say about Google's

Installation
of Google's Chrome browser was fast and smooth, it is a sign
that this new browser is simplified for performance, we kept
testing the browser with sites that Firefox failed to show
properly due to possible compatibility issues with sites
designed by Microsoft tools such as FrontPage. It came as a very
good surprise, we where able to view the sites same as with
Microsoft Explorer, it was fast and did not require the
installation (after already installing it for Explorer) of
Flash.
My favourites
and other add-ons where all successfully transferred, so far I
was very happy with my new toy. Chrome was my new favourite.
The interface
of the Google Chrome is very clean and elegant, however at this
time I clearly am missing some of the features that I was using
with Explorer.
I kept
stressing the Chrome browser, but it did not crash, same tests
with Explorer would have resulted with a possible crash, dump,
you name it...
Security is somewhat of a concern for
professional users, I was not able to learn enough about
this topic, which indicates it may still be in the works. This
is a very important feature and Google should take this into
account as they release the official version. Google demos
this issue under
safe browsing.
After completing my tests I am happy to use
Google's Chrome, putting my concerns aside for now, this is
exactly what we where looking for and could not achieve with
the FireFox alternative. As it is only a beta for now we are
more forgiving and decided to give Chrome a 3.5 star rating
(out of five). Go download! |
